Silymarin is traditionally used in Western herbal medicine as a liver tonic and to help promote healthy liver function.

  • St Mary's Thistle is used traditionally in Western herbal medicine:
- as a liver tonic and to enhance liver health
- to help promote healthy liver function
- for symptomatic relief of non-specific dyspepsia
- to relieve symptoms of indigestion
  • As an antioxidant herb which scavenges free radicals
Dose and Administration

Dose and Administration: MediHerb Silymarin 

Adults: 1 tablet 2-3 times daily

Each tablet contains:
Silybum marianum (St Mary’s Thistle) extract 240mg
derived from min. seed dry 16.8g
standardised to contain flavanolignans calculated as silybin 168mg
Excipients

Calcium Hydrogen Phosphate Dihydrate, Colloidal Anhydrous Silica, Magnesium Stearate, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Sodium Starch Glycollate.

Warnings, Contraindications and Cautions

Warnings, Contraindications and Cautions: MediHerb Silymarin 

In anaemia and cases where iron supplementation is required, do not take simultaneously with meals or iron supplements

Not to be taken at the same time with immunosuppressive drugs and caution is advised in those with elevated liver enzymes taking immunosuppressive drugs

Caution in patients taking domperidone, metronidazole, ornidazole, insulin or oral hypoglycaemia drugs, talinolol and nifedipine

Discontinue 7 days prior to general anaesthesia

If patient symptoms persist, seek additional professional advice
