    • Traditionally used in Western herbal medicine to help relieve the symptoms of catarrh by its soothing action on the mucous membranes.
    • Traditionally used in Western herbal medicine for the relief of mild inflammation of the mucous membranes of the respiratory and digestive tracts.
    • May be used for mild digestive disorders.
    • Traditionally used in Western herbal medicine for the relief of diarrhoea and mild digestive complaints.
      Dose and Administration

      Dose and Administration: MediHerb Golden Seal

      Adults: 1 tablet 2-3 times daily.

      Children 6-12 years: 1 tablet 1-2 times daily.

      Hydrastis canadensis (Golden Seal) extract 1.5mL
      - derived from root & rhizome dry 500mg
      Contraindications and Cautions

      Contraindications and Cautions: MediHerb Golden Seal

      • Berberine may reinforce the effects of other drugs which displace the protein binding of bilirubin.
      • Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
      • Caution in patients taking midazolam.
      • If diarrhoea persists for more than 6 hours in infants under 6 months, 12 hours in children under 3 years, 24 hours in children aged 3 – 6 years or 48 hours in adults and children over 6 years, seek medical advice.
      • Until definitive research is available, do no use in jaundiced neonates.
      • Discontinue 7 days prior to general anaesthesia.
